LinkedIn EM offer

Nov 10, 2021 15 Comments

Hi,
I have following verbal offer from LI for EM role in Bay Area. No competing offer right now, one in onsite stage. Any advise on negotiating higher? I thought comps were revised higher due to recent inflation and thought this is a low ball.

Base: 230k, Bonus target 15%
Stocks: 700k
Sign On: 50k
TC: 440k

YOE: 16, 6 as Manager
Current TC: 230k

Seems pretty low for EM but then it’s a big jump for you.

Thanks for your response. Am I correct in thinking that offers in last 3-4 months have been higher?
Good to be realistic, but don't want to accept lower offer and then regret

    • The mid point I mentioned has been determined this annual cycle… sometimes September.. so seems good given recent inflation. You can go a bit higher on grant with competing offers imo

Check levels fyi. Seems solid to me. Do YOU feel ok taking a EM role w how much experience you have? If your wanting more you might look for Sr Manager roles.

Well, push for it. And keep us posted! Congrats most of all though.

Im jelly. I got into part of the loop...and botched what should have been the easiest of the interviews.

      Maybe next time for me.

      Thanks!
I too felt interviews, on technical side, were easier than other similar companies. But I totally agree that interviews are a crapshoot - a fair bit of luck is involved and could go either way regardless of level of difficulty. Wish you all the best for next/other opportunities!
