LinkedIn Job Search needs a lot of work

I’ve been trying stay up-to-date with the job market using search and alerts on LinkedIn. It’s kinda wanky. Why can’t I just straight up block recruiting agencies and sweat shops? Whyyy? Filtering out irrelevant titles was also a lot of work. Easy apply is bullshit too, all companies reply asking me for my resume!? Why don’t you acquire some of those job boards and put an end to this madness. I understand it when i have to fill out FAANG forms without the help of linkedin, but doing it for the rest of the companies is nonsense. even if there is a button to apply with linkedin, it rarely works properly. Do I have to join LinkedIn to get this fixed? TC: 280

You can upload a resume to LinkedIn and click easy apply and it uses that one it’s literally a two click button. Search sucks :) easy apply is set up by the job poster side so

All problems described were with a profile that had uploaded resume in PDF. I don’t think it made anything easier for me. They still ask for all the things that are available in the resume and in LI profile. If something autofills, it’s horribly formatted and needs editing. Government level bureaucracy.

Ya that’s set up by the person who posted the job lol. Some of the easy apply just takes a resume and your info from LinkedIn

The jobseeker experience has lot of room for the improvement. I work in related area so I know that most of the easy applies do send your resume. However it's up to job poster to set it up. So many job posters still ask for updated resume. One of the issues here is since LinkedIn job search (or any organic search ) can't have preferential treatment towards some of the companies. So by default, LinkedIn can't block the recruiting agencies and sweat shops. You also mentioned that "you understand it when you have to fill out FAANG forms but doing it for rest of the companies is nonsense " ..this also has same reason as search can't have preferential treatment for certain companies..that just opens up LinkedIn for lawsuits. I agree with your suggestion about filters for recruiting agencies and sweat shops will be helpful.

Thanks for the context. I expected it to be related to some complicated legal thing. It’s just sad that there are barriers to the best user experience.

Why wouldn’t we give preferential treatment? From a business strategy side looking at the long haul, it feels like professional recruitment will always optimize better than non profit/Gov’t/other businesses. This is a bad experience for jobseekers and is not members first. Probably one of many reasons Indeed is killing us.
