How do you go about asking colleagues and mentors to provide you with a Linkedin review? It’s awkward asking, especially when you’re not asking for purposes of changing jobs. I think LinkedIn should come up with an incentive structure that gets people to do it without being prompted to do so. Do you simply ask people or do they do it on their own? I feel like I’ve earned some good credit with people and would like that reflected some how on my page.
It doesn’t have to be awkward. Just send them a message on LinkedIn asking them for what you want
It gets awkward when they: 1) don’t reply; and 2) are still working with you. The latter may make it seem like I’m asking for it to facilitate a move to a new job
I think you should reach out to people you feel like you’ve earned good credit with and ask them to review you on LinkedIn. I think its similar to getting references for a new position. Great question
