What’s LinkedIn SRE like? Is it worth making the jump? In specific: 1. I’ve read over the blog on SRE hiring practices. (https://engineering.linkedin.com/blog/2017/07/hiring-sres-at-linkedin) Is this true to life? 2. How is comp compared to the rest of the industry? ( 5 years SRE experience ) 3. For those who work there, how would you describe the culture, specifically on the SRE team?
1. Reasonably accurate. 2. At the top-end, in line with all the other large and public companies. 3. Culture is fantastic IMO. Biggest cultural part to me is people acting like an owner. Biggest thing not asked is ability to make an impact while being a mid-large company. Feel free to PM if you want to discuss more.
