LinkedIn SRE passing interviews

Sep 28, 2021 3 Comments

I've searched here, glassdoor, and elsewhere and am still curious -- I have TPS #1 coming up for SRE at LinkedIn, but I'm wondering after that how much leeway is there for answering all of the questions correctly? Do I have to 100% answer every question correct for TPS#2 and on site? I'm guessing it depends on how they will level me if they want to proceed with hiring? #linkedin #sre

  • For the code screen you will need to be able to come up with a workable solution for a majority of questions. It can be up to five questions for entry level. I won't give any specifics, but if you research Glassdoor it will tell you everything you need to know IMO. If you feel like you can't answer the question, time box yourself and keep moving, but it is Python basics.
For TPS#2 It really is just a gauge of where you're at. The more you know, the better off you are, but there isn't anything wrong with not knowing the correct answer or admitting you're not familiar with a detail. I think it's worse to BS it.

    • Cool ty for info. I just passed TPS#1 on Thursday so have my TPS#2 scheduled for later this month. I only got tripped up on the final question which was an improvement to previous code, but admitted I was wrong and needed to research. I hope I have enough experience for TPS#2!

    • Congrats! Again, Blind and Glassdoor + Recruiter should give you everything you need to know for the next round. I recommend reading official documentation and checking OReilly for books on the subjects. There also some great Youtube videos. Final interview is pretty experienced based. But you won't have to get everything right, it's more checking to see your experience and thought process. If you make it let me know!
