Database companies that pay well for Staff SWE
TC: $250 (base + bonus) + $100k RSUs YOE: 8 Being at Flexport for a couple of years, senior position, got offers from both LinkedIn and SoFi. Both offers are a bit higher than current TC. Flexport is fine, no big complaints but may be 2 or 3 years away from a potential IPO and is a bit boring. How is life at SoFi? According to recruiter IPO is happening this quarter and my stock price at grant would be $13. What about LinkedIn? How is WLB? Thanks! #tech #flexport #linkedin #SoFi
Make it a poll. Either Stay at Flexport or SoFi.
Ask the recruiter if your shares will be pre or post stock split. How many RSUs did they offer?
Base pay 230k, bonus is 20% paid quarterly and RSUs 32k (typical 4 years with 1 year cliff)
32k$ worth of stocks per year? Market rate for flexport looks like 10$ so some 3200 units a year? That sounds less 🤔 Pretty good base though!
No, 32k RSUs is the total package for 4 years
What’s the TC breakdown for LinkedIn and SoFi. If you want to have most authentic feedback, you’ll need to give them the full picture
You’d be dumb to pass up an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a hot company like SoFi that is about to IPO and is seriously redefining an industry. LinkedIn will always be there when you’re ready to retire
I thought flexport also is heading the ipo road?
SoFi has the most upside by far, and you’ll be at the forefront of redefining fin- tech
I would definitely stick with Flexport. Its seems to be on the way to an amazing IPO in a pretty big market. Fintech has a lot of players right now, PayPal, Square, Visa etc. Sofi definitely has a place but I feel Flexport's IPO is gonna be huge. So seems like a no brainer to collect them cheap Stonks right now 🙌🙌
I am sure that you are aware but Sofi is merging with IPOE so IPO is already almost done. IPOE is currently trading at 19$ so if you are getting a higher Tc with stock price at 13$, you would be looking at a roughly 50% increase in stock comp as soon as you join. Given the stock price stays >=19$. Having said that, I would stick with Flexport. Definitely seems like a lot more upside!
This. Go with Sofi 👏 also will be a lot higher when Cathie starts adding in ARKF.
@OP On a tangential note, How's flexport doing? The perception outside is that it's doing good and the IPO might be huge. Any reaons you are leaving except being bored as you mentioned?
