Had 5 rounds(6 including lunch) yesterday. One coding round went very well - with a minor hiccup where I missed a condition and the interviewer said there was a bug and I corrected it. The other round went well, I could answer all the questions and came up with a fairly optimized code, the interviewer followed up with a space optimization question, I was able to answer but couldn’t code due to lack of time. The design round went well, I misunderstood some requirements at the beginning but I corrected them later and got a good design. The host manager round and the technical communication round were super perfect. Nailed every question on this front. What do you think are my chances ? Heavily counting on this one as I’m tired of interviewing.
.... basically you are asking for others' words to feel better. I don't know about others but I feel used. Also just don't this to yourself, sometimes even if you think you did well there are still plenty of reasons to reject you. What do you do then? Leave a bad review on Glassdoor? Get over yourself. If FAANNG is what you want, keep trying until done. That's it
You are probably right !
DM you.
How was the interview in terms of difficulty.... what level of leetcode asked? Hard, medium or easy?
Had two mediums and one hard
Worst is team match if you clear the onsite. There are not many open positions in LinkedIn these days
I got matched with a team recently.. it's true that their headcount is low and that will improve in July
If you were missing something in every interview until the interviewer points out, either you get a decline or down leveled. There's way too much demand for perfection considering number of candidates applying
OK interview, 10% accept. Perfect interview 50% accept. Interviews are subjective, so there is no 100% accept.
Really 50% with perfect?? How would you know? Isn’t it in general pool then team match after? OP how did you figure out host interview was perfect?
Absolutely! Even if you had a perfect answer to all questions, the interviewer may think you are not a culture fit or you solved the question so quick that you must have memorized it etc. There are many different kinds of people, you never know what grade the interviewer gonna give you.
DMed you
I am in a similar boat with a so-so/average in one round but (my personal eval) did great in other rounds (including 2 phone screens). Heard from recruiter that my debrief is early this week and will let me know right after. The role though is for SRE manager. Hoping just one round doesn’t make it an automatic reject. I do have couple of others offers though. So, not the end of world 🙂
@OP - what was the final outcome in your case?
Good luck :)
