So I recently upgraded to LinkedIn premium.
And I see that almost every job that I am interested in, there are about 100 applicants, some are even VP level and sometimes over 200 applicants.

If you have used LinkedIn premium in the past 3-4 years, was it always like that or the number of applicants has increased in the last few months due to layoffs, hiring freezes etc.

Hiring managers, are you guys seeing a flood of resumes these days?

If u want top job, be prepared to compete. (At Lots of good companies it’s not a competition amongst candidates. It’s a competition against their bar and if u clear it you will get an offer)

Would u wanna apply for a job where u r the sole applicant?
If yes, won’t u have some doubt as to why no one else has applied for it?

I have applied to job postings that were posted 3 or more weeks ago and had 200+ applications. Got a call from their recruiter the next day. 200 doesn’t mean that all of them are qualified. Some people just apply everywhere, more due to this pandemic.
So don’t worry about that number and apply if you are qualified, and good luck!

Not LinkedIn premium but I think most jobs typically had at least a couple hundred applicants even before the pandemic.

Ignore that statistic for “easy apply”. Anyone can just click on it, doesn’t mean they’re competing with you
