that would save money but is also how google kills companies. you spend all your time rewriting to a new stack, innovation stops, people who want to do new stuff leave.

Glassdoor kapowow Jul 21, 2017

Sounds like a great plan. Can you guys get on that? Also go ahead and tank the recruitment business while you're at it, k, thanks, bye.

Conspicuously missing from this list are products a barista or a non tech student use...

LinkedIn YourPapa Jul 21, 2017

I agree. Never really liked KS. He always speaks in hyperbole and is a total politician.

Microsoft Jim Raynor Jul 21, 2017

Microsoft spent $26B in this acquisition so it could sum $1B in the quarter revenue and cover the hole created by declining revenue from legacy products. Our quarter revenue has been on the 21-25 range for many years. Company will continue this strategy until something actually grows.

Facebook googT5 Jul 22, 2017

do u actually know what you can do with social graph.. the data..

Microsoft Jim Raynor Jul 22, 2017

Microsoft has no idea how to grow this business. All the indicators are there. Layoffs, budget cuts. The company is in save my ass mode.

Microsoft Euur05 Jul 21, 2017

Op I guess you do not understand economies of scale or value of moats/data platforms. The company spent a lot of money on Bing while other teams would criticise the whole effort using your arguments. As for infra optimizations..we have a company CTO who understands Li stack pretty well and the entire Li leadership is completely wedded to seeing Msft do well. (more so than many of our own leaders)

Microsoft djVz10 OP Jul 21, 2017

I didn't mean that, unless you think Bing is a shit. I know LI stack as well, Java Spring, Oracle DB and Ember. Anything more than this?

Microsoft Euur05 Jul 21, 2017

Understood your point. Business success of a surface with network effects and technical complexity can be unrelated. So IMHO Li is going to make tonnes of money eventually as top line grows and as MS products leverage the data but there is a case to be made for some amount of infrastructure consolidation given that Azure is arguably more mature. I guess the point about Azure and Bing stacks being lot more evolved than Li would be hard to argue against given the difference in scale and versatility.

so salty, damn. That dumb Satya, huh? He should have consulted with you first 😧

Google Hire is to LinkedIN what Facebook is to MySpace. I said it first. RIP LinkedIn

LinkedIn mynx Jul 21, 2017

youre a moron. Google hire is an ats.... linkedin isn't

Microsoft ☠Nutella☠ Jul 21, 2017

Just please, please, please hire designers. The entire site looks like a big ugly mess. Like MySpace. Hire looks clean and streamlined. That's what I'm talking about

Microsoft layoffs will come to LI soon enough

LinkedIn PlumpyNut Jul 21, 2017

Lol, don't worry as the only layoffs msft will do in lnkd will be to people that haven't jumped ship already

Microsoft djVz10 OP Jul 21, 2017

I believe those people already jumped LOL. MSFT will layoff the rest like you and make LinkedIn great again.

LinkedIn erWf43 Jul 21, 2017

well. msft did spend way more than 26b for Bing... way more.

Microsoft djVz10 OP Jul 21, 2017

Our revenue is way more too

Microsoft Euur05 Jul 21, 2017

lot less than that :-)

Microsoft Euur05 Jul 21, 2017

Every time I've interacted with Li what strikes me is the awesome culture of the company. Ms has changed a lot over the last 5 years but still it appears Li folks are a lot nicer than Ms folks who can often be more cutthroat. Even our old timers who are part of Li seem to be a transformed lot. Though our culture is undergoing a significant shift for the better I often wonder how much more we could have achieved if we had Li culture across the company.
