Which one is better for career? For engineering? I hear that LinkedIn has a very relaxed work environment. Although that may be desirable as an employee, but doesn't it come at the cost of low quality work?
Are you seriously considering this question?
Yeah. Why not?
Because LinkedIn is one of the most highly regarded companies amongst tech employees atm. Great benefits, comp, WLB, etc
LinkedIn, 100%
Why?
Expedia is not really an engineering company. Go to LinkedIn
You know that can be a positive?
You mentioned engineering culture, Expedia is not a tech company and engineering is not considered valuable there. They are of course good from business and product perspective. But if you want to grow on the tech side, LinkedIn is definitely much much better
linkedin no brainer
Not comparing the benefits, why?
Expedia!
Lol. Why?
Because it's the first time where the other company is not one of FAANG against LinkedIn. Btw, you have offers from both?
Go to Expedia. You want to hear that from what I see above. And talk about this once you have offers. Believe me LinkedIn is not dying to take you in..first get an offer which I am sure is not easy to get. I can assure you though that there are tons of opportunities to learn here. I have worked at many other big names but working at LinkedIn has been the best experience so far.
I'm already working at Expedia and wondering if applying for LinkedIn would be worth it, given that we also get free food, free transport and as good and as much benefits as LinkedIn. Besides I would need to leave my home city. So, want to know if there is any significant advantage.
I am sure LinkedIn pays way better than Expedia. I am making > $300k with < 4yoe. If money is not a big motivation for you than you are at the wrong platform asking the wrong question.
Go apply, if you go a chance to visit our campus and people you will know why it's so obvious.
I visited one of the LinkedIn offices. It was big and with many more facilities but nothing makes up for passion. LinkedIn, I feel is in a very comfortable and unique zone but is there room for passion? Can an engineer do what he believes could be beneficial for the company or is it just the same quarterly targets with lesser pressure?
Lol. I guess this guy has already been rejected by LinkedIn and he is seeking ego satisfaction by seeing people bashing LinkedIn and praising Expedia. If you really want to apply then LinkedIn is not charging you for your application.
What?
Pretty sure this guy is trolling
LinkedIn no question
