I am currently a Senior SWE at LinkedIn (Part of Data Infrastructure). I work on very interesting core distributed systems problems and I am very happy here. I have a PhD in CS from a top school. TC: 400K (due to stock appreciation) YOE 9 I got an offer from Apple: Siri Platform Software Engineer role under JG's org. From my interviews it looks like they are working on some cool platform stuff and I have heard great things about JG and his org at Apple. TC offered verbally: 200k base, 800k RSU for 4 years and sign on 100k. Bonus is around 10%. I need to double check this. This comes to ~ 445k Level is ICT4. its a great offer for ICT4. Some pros and cons of Apple vs LinkedIn Pros of Apple: Good starting TC, refreshers are good and JG's org is known to be very good and the interviewers/potential co-workers were pretty smart. Siri is a good team to work ICT4 is > LinkedIn Senior and also it is equivalent to manager level. I have an interest to get into management in a year or so and this would be a good path Refreshers at Linkedin is not great and the high TC is mainly due to stock appreciation. Pros of LinkedIn: Awesome culture in Data Infra, Great work and I am ramped up very well and I am a solid contributer. I don't have to be afraid of any layoffs as I am a good performer I can get to Staff in 1 - 1.5 years at the max and then switch to management. LinkedIn is a very well known place to me and life is comfortable as I know the system in and out. If I take Apple I need to ramp up and prove myself. Given the remote work thing it's not going to be very easy to ramp up. I need to put a lot of extra hours in the 1st year to do well Please let me know your thoughts on what makes sense in the long run.

See you at Apple!
Again What is your reasoning?
This is one of the best ICT4 offers I've seen, even for JG. Only con that I see is the remote onboarding!
Why do you say that? I have seen better offers or similar offers in levels.fyi if you go to individual salaries there for ai/ml platform. Also will Apple allow me to join next year? I am also concerned about remote on boarding. Also do you know much about this org at Apple in terms of work, wlb, reputation etc? Thanks
Congrats.... I am seeing this kind of offer from Apple for the first time!!! Whats the word on wlb in this org? Some teams at apple seem to be too good wlb and some bad wlb
Thanks ๐ I am not very sure about the wlb. I can see that most of the potential teammates are very driven and smart.
Thanks. People who are saying donโt make the shift, can you please tell your reasoning. Also how can I create a poll for this question
Don't leave a good team with good TC, especially if the raise is only 10%.
Come to Lyft! We can easily beat that offer by far till you vest
Is Lyft still hiring? Didn't they just layoff a lot of people?
Depends on how badly you want to be a manager. You're moving to a new company without prior managerial experience and in a remote environment. You might not get to be a manager in one year. In that case, would you be disappointed? Would you leave? Imo you should join if you're ok with working as an IC
