My friend (not on Blind) got a low ball offer for a LinkedIn SRE position. It is even lower than his current comp.
He has 10+ years of experience
Does anyone know what he can do to get them to match his Google offer or beat it?
His total comp is 208K and breaks down as follows:
* Base: 150K
* RSU: 175K / 4 years
* Bonus: 10%
He says that is as high as they will go.
He got a separate offer from Google as a System Administrator as a E5 with total comp of $315k/year.
He said he did really well on the LinkedIn interview - better than his Google interview - and is confused why they are low balling him, even though they know what Google is offering.
He doesn't want to join Google as a Sys Admin and would rather join LinkedIn as SRE. I don't know what to tell him besides walk away and continue applying elsewhere. Google is a hard name to pass up even if Sys Admin isn't so great there.
