Does LinkedIn pay $400k for a staff engineer? Can any body share what the breakdown looks like?
400 should be doable
Isn't linkedin staff == fb e5? Fb e5 comp is more like 350-380k/year
Around 350k. Might be able to go to 400 with competing offers or if they really want you. Linkedin down levels like Google so hard to get externally.
I posted this question in the MSFT+LinkedIn lounge a week ago, & someone from LinkedIn said range for Staff is 350-450k. No idea if that's accurate.
Not accurate, staff here made around 490k this year
2018 was unusual because of the double bonus. Don’t expect 2019 to be quite as good.
You specifically asked for low-mid range of Staff on that channel :) And 350-450k is the correct answer for low-mid range of Staff. Note that it is a terminal level at Linkedin. Staff is around 10% of engineers. Less than 3% make it to Senior Staff. Google L6 and FB E6 also tend to be around 10%.
Then I misunderstood the response. I thought 350-450K was the total range :-) what's the upper end then ? And if only 10% engineers are at Staff, is Senior also considered to be a terminal level ?
I don’t think this is accurate. I don’t know if there are many staffs that make over 400k. I think staff is probably closer to 300-400.
