Listing with redfin?

I'm thinking about listing my home with redfin. I love their app and technology! But they told me my house will not appear on Zillow and that's seems like a deal breaker to me. What do you think? Do you advice redfin? Thanks

Any listing goes to MLS, which is pretty much the same across every agent. Zillow sucks if it doesn't show it, not your fault. I'd use redfin. Used them for purchasing.

Yeah zillow filter out redfin listing now

It is Redfin that blocks their listings from syndicating in NWmLS. Selfish strategy on their side. You will loose a lot of potential buyer audience. I am sure in this market you will find buyers, but more buyers = higher price. Zillow still has much more traffic than Redfin

I bought with them. Would I do it again? Maybe. The discount is nice, they helped pay for my closing costs. However, they aren’t driven by commission and it seemed like they worked a little slower. In the end, I got what I wanted, so no complaints. They were able to knock of 5% of the listing (back when that was possible in Seattle). The feedback, at least when I did it (which drives the agents compensation) is a 1-5 star rating. That’s it.

How much are you saving ? If not significant go with agent. A good agent makes a difference

Hard to tell whether a specific agent can truly add incremental value.

They don't, as far as I could tell from a buyer perspective. Seller honestly I don't see how they would, but benefit of the doubt.

Agents are crooks in a hot market

I work for Keller Williams (tech not an agent). Our tech isn’t as good *yet*, but our agents are way better and anyone party to a transaction that involves a KW agent get access to a Zero Plus loan. Literally free, no transaction, origination or processing cost, $1k back at closing. So when listing with a KW agent, buyers can get that deal as a result and it’s a huge traffic driver.

Just wanted to add I had a very positive experience with Keller Williams agents on both the east and west coasts. The app had some bugs (I actually wrote some up for my agent, heh), but I still use it to keep an eye on the values of homes selling in my neighborhood. Thumbs up from this random Blind weirdo :)

Selling a home with a local agent has the benefit of marketing your home to other agents and buyers in the area. Good agents can help to drive up demand and help you to get the highest price.

Used KW once. Used Redfin twice. Infinitely better experience with Redfin

Could you share more detail on why Redfin was better?

Commission refund. Zero fees loan are not uncommon with lenders including lender credit. Great interface. Incentives aligned for agents to improve satisfaction.

In a hot market, homes really sell themselves. You save 2% of sale price, which can be pretty significant. I had a very good experience listing with Redfin.

I had a terrible experience with Redfin, the agent was clueless and I felt like he was working against me on price. Never again.

You actually lose more by using redfin or discounted agent. Some discounted agents are awesome but most will set the price very low as they just want to sell more and quickly.
