Looker was recently acquired by google. Anyone who has gone through acquisition process, can you shed some light on the leveling process, what impact the acquisition has on the job title and salary?
I heard some nest engineers had to reinterview.
I can tell you that when google acquired a previous company my friend was in, all of the engineers had to reinterview and they leveled based off of that. Considering GCP is desperate, maybe they will go easy.
What happens if an employee had already interviewed in the past few months? Rejected by default due to the cool-off period?
This process is probably more lenient than your normal interview.

How many books do you usually read in a year?
It takes at least one year to align an acquired company. Most relevant question is if the swe at looker got any extra money as part of an acquisition?
What are you referring to by "aligning an acquired company?" are you referring to the leveling process? I believe that the leveling process happens immediately after the acquisition though, in that process, maybe some roles will benefit while other roles might be negatively impacted. I am not yet very sure of how the process works, so was hoping I could get some insights from someone who has gone through this process, or has some info.
Referring to the levelling process.
