I’m local to CapOnes HQ and am interested in interning there next summer as a SWE. If anyones willing to help w a referral that would be great! I’m a rising third year at Top 5 public school that C1 recruits from heavily (they’re coming to campus soon, but I just want to get the ball rolling before school starts since I heard they already started dishing out interviews). I have a 4.00 Cumulative GPA, 1 prior SWE internship w a small company, and 1 prior Engineering Manager internship w another small company. if you would be willing to help out with a referral comment and I’ll PM u my resume and details
Don’t waste your time with C One
Why do you say so?
You seem intelligent on paper. C One people are most incompetent that you can ever meet in industry. From top senior director level to junior roles. Read in WSJ, what is the main reason of data leak? The C stands for C players with extra cash
If HQ is close to home, just try getting in at Amazon. I know traffic is bad but Amazon is definitely better for your resume.
Which Amazon office are you talking about? AWS in Herndon? Also I would def take Amazon over C1 and would rather go to Amazon in Seattle if I can get the internship
I’m assuming they’re going to start recruiting for interns/new grads at the new campus at some point. If you can network with people from Amazon then you can hear about opportunities as they open up or even before.
Engineering manager internship at your age? It's not possible even in small companies!
I actually agree I think the more suitable title is “Project Engineer.” It’s basically a project management position for an engineering project. I’ll actually change the title to project engineer intern on my resume so it’s not misleading
Why not ask for referrals to FAANG / unicorns? C1 is a joke
I already have a referral or am in touch with a recruiter at all the FAANGs I’m interested in. I just want a fall back option in case I can’t pass FAANG interviews Edit: Unicorns would be nice though if anyone wants to help hehe
Fair point fair point. Interning here is honestly not bad either, pays well, treated well Just make sure not to come here for full time even if you don’t have other offers! It’s so behind any real tech company in pay and ten
Betterment is in midtown...

Hi annyingkid. Why apply for SWE job when you already have engineering manager internship and 4.00 GPA under your belt? Isn't it a step down from management role? Genuinely curious.
Engineering manager was at a small company while I was in HS. It was basically just project management for engineering projects so I’d do stuff like propose routes for new fiber optic cables for customers, overwatch the project as its being constructed then run tests to report to the customer at the end (it’s a lot less technical than the position sounds). I also used to think I wanted to be MechE but I’m a CS major though and I enjoy making things so SWE’s the way to go
