I have been working on a video streaming service idea for a while now. [My home country doesn't have any dedicated service and there is a decent target market] I spent sometime learning react to create a working prototype and now ramping up on understanding how the backend architecture works. I am hoping to learn two major things: 1. How do I generate funds to afford the distributor's license fee? Currently I have downloaded films from the free domain and copyright free YouTube videos to populate the prototype. So far I have a business plan, target audience, clunky but working prototype . I don't have the money to pay for any licensed content. 2. For backend engineering is AWS a good place to start? All my stuff is either working off youtube links or uploaded on the backend server. #startup
Look at Pluto TV
1. Get investors 2. Don’t you work for Google..? And you’re seriously asking about how you’d build a video streaming site from scratch?
I have been reading up on G vs AWS and the latter seems to be doing better at streaming. I do work for G, I'm a Data Scientist so not working on production or system design
Dude
This is great practice. But as long as you know you're competing against Google with auto subs, (and possibly auto dubs soon) then I guess you can make a run for it.
