Looking for a technical overview on Salesforce

I am inheriting a mess of spreadsheets that are being used for demand, forecasting etc. I want to move them to a database, like mysql. My company already deploys Salesforce, which is one of the data sources for the spreadsheets. So one person suggested moving to Salesforce instead. I am hoping to get a technical overview from a knowledgeable person on how to get started with the design/planning and feasibility of the project. Please PM me if you are willing to help.

What tools are available to you by your company to do the job? It can be done in many different ways. One of the ways would be https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/integration-services/load-data-to-from-excel-with-ssis?view=sql-server-2017

Basically, I want to create my own tables in existing deployment of Salesforce, so my users can enter their data into my Salesforce tables, instead of spreadsheets. My users already use the company deployment of Salesforce for their daily work flow.

Should go to trailhead.salesforce.com if you want to learn salesforce. Not sure how to provide guidance without learning more about the data and the use case

Yes, that is why I asked for PM. Not easy to explain complex use cases over text.

I would recommend reaching out to your saleforce account team for support as they probably have a lot more context on your existing saleforce instance(s) vs a stranger on blind and will be able to provide the best guidance and bring the right technical resources for your use case
