Looking for an Amazon referral and any advice that isn’t “don’t go to Amazon”

Hello Blind!

Around 14 YOE total, one year SWE experience.

Mostly electrical engineering, defense type systems work. I’ve spent the last year working/learning in Python, C++, Linux, Lua, and SQL… thanks a manager that was willing to give me a chance to break into software engineering.

Well, that manager left and went to Netflix.

So I found blind and realized I needed to LC and get out. I know Amazon gets a bad rap, but it would allow me to WFH 100% as well as leverage my TS clearance. If the culture sucks I’ll just use it as a stepping stone for something else.

Im interviewing with a startup that I hope works out, but I figured I should go ahead and start interviewing in parallel. Hoping to interview for an SDE II or III role. I’m in a senior staff role at LM but obviously that doesn’t translate.

Current TC 125k and I don’t count retirement match or OT like some other defense guys do.
