I work at Walmart Labs as a SE-III in Bentonville Arkansas. I have on-site interview lined up in Seattle area for Amazon. I am looking for mentors so that I can learn more about the interview process and hopefully make a long lasting connection. Last Friday I had Microsoft on-site and didn't do well, after the feedback I got to know that while I was good in Technical Communication and Problem solving but there are area of improvements in coding part. I would really like to get in touch with seniors and peers to understand and work on my areas. I would really appreciate if you'd like to mentor me. I am looking people from Seattle area because I'll be traveling there and it could be great chance to meet you guys 1-1, but if you are from other area and think I could use your help please feel free to contact me I am open to connect and learn. I really want to improve as a Engineer irrespective of the interview results.

What do they gain in return?
There are bunch of benefits for mentoring especially if you are looking for senior positions in your org which needs leadership and communication skills this might be a good way to practice it, but all in all you might connect with someone as a friend too. I saw a good post somewhere online I am pasting it here. Build your leadership skills – It helps you develop your ability to motivate and encourage others. This can help you become a better manager, employee, and team member. Improve your communication skills – Because your mentee may come from a different background or environment, the two of you may not "speak the same language." This may force you to find a way to communicate more effectively as you navigate your way through the mentoring relationship. Learn new perspectives – By working with someone less experienced and from a different background, you can gain a fresh perspective on things and learn a new way of thinking – which can help in your work life as well as your personal life. Advance your career – Refining your leadership skills can strengthen your on-the-job performance, perhaps helping you get that promotion to higher management – or into management in the first place. Showing that you've helped others learn and grow is becoming more and more essential to advancement in today's business world. Gain personal satisfaction – It can be very personally fulfilling to know that you've directly contributed to someone's growth and development. Seeing your mentee succeed as result of your input is a reward in itself.
