Looking for moving out of Amazon India to somewhere abroad

I have around 1.5 YOE in total and around 1 year in Amazon India. i wanted to move out to US, Canada, Europe or Australia and explore new options. Not looking for internal team change because Amazon India has a policy now that you can only move out once you are here as sde2 for an year and i am still an sde 1 so that will take 2 years atleast. I'm looking for suggestions here. What should i look for. If anyone of you knows your company is hiring and is willing to refer let me know I'll send you my resume for you to have a look. Would need visa sponsorship from the company as well if needed for that country. Thanks a lot #refer #referral #hiring #h1b #jobs #sde #softwareengineer

Are you moving because you don't like your team? Or you don't like Amazon India in general? Or you want to leave the country and move to the ones you mentioned above irrespective of what the team, work looks like.

I have decided I'll be moving out of India soon. My team is good though no issues in team or Amazon. Just figuring out my options.

It's clear, he doesn't want to be India. He is desperate to move out of India.

Yup. I thought it was clear enough that it didn't need to be made more clearer. But thanks.

No company will sponsor your H1B visa until and unless you are on L-1 or F-1 visa. Try to get L1 from Amazon or master's from US.

So after one year, can we sure shot get to the US/Europe team with Amazon sponsorship, provided we clear internal interview? Did I get it right?

Yup. for sde2.

Zero chance for you to make in US. You need h1b and you have approximately 30 % chance of clearing lottery and that lottery itself opens in April. Also, there is no real scarcity of indian software engineers in US who studied here. You can look if you can qualify for Canadian express entry program for permanent residence. If you can get it, you will get canadian citizenship in 5 years and then apply for TN visa to work in US.

Thanks for your suggestion

Please don't come to the US. Stay in your home country.

Lol. US is not my biggest priority. Canada or London is better. But anyways if i get some opportunity I'd not think twice because you said please.

No offence but US is full. Packed and viruses everywhere. You're better off in London or Canada.
