Hi all, I was recently laid off from Deloitte Consulting and wanted to reach out to this community to ask for help in any way possible. I am currently on F1 Visa and hence only have 8 more weeks pending to find a job (was laid off on 17th Sept). I worked as a Strategy and Analytics Consultant at Deloitte Consulting LLP, with focus on providing data insights and strategic expertise to clients in various domains such as Finance, Supply Chain and Pharmaceuticals. I have also worked as an Asset Management Intern at Schlumberger driving strategic initiatives to increase profits and improve process efficiency. I am now looking for an opportunity where I can use my business and technical skills to dive deep into a particular domain while providing critical and innovative solutions. I would deeply appreciate any help if possible! TIA
Not sure if you’re still interested in staying in consulting (sounds like you wanna go into industry) but if you see any openings at Accenture, I’m happy to refer you!
If you see any opportunities in EY, I'm happy to refer. DM me
Thanks a lot OCjC00
Hit me up if you see any opportunities with PwC
Thanks a lot xvzUm
Deloitte will not lay off without valid reason based on my experience even business get slow down. Few year back they make they were down with their auditing business and they merge it with their global services without making big lay offs. They do lay off only if they found some one is cost to company and not as productive what they are paying for.
Thanks a lot for you reply and kind words! I am just saying what had been said to me, I was promoted last month and had a utilization of 105 so cost to company vs productivity would not be something that they would be worried about afaik!
This is not true. During my 3 years at Deloitte (Advisory) there were several lay offs (I was not among them). What they do is a very good job of not publicizing lay-offs within the organization or media.
Thanks Jayxer! Another thing I wanted to say to Zix1j is his/her comment does not help me in anyway! I am looking for help and a little kindness in not commenting things like this would go a long way. I was told it was business slowdown and I mentioned the same, you could have reached out to me to understand it further and I would be happy to help with further details. A little kindness goes a long way!
OP it is unfortunate that you are in this situation. Being on F1 and now on H1b- i can understand how stressful it could get to lose a job. I really hope you find a good job soon. I work at D myself so cannot be of much help. Wish you good luck. One fight at a time. Keep fighting.
Hey OP, sorry about your situation. And for anyone else wondering about lay-off rationale at Deloitte, there is none for the current round of layoffs. It’s very random. New promotes, people on projects, Senior Managers as well as new joiners have been laid off. This lay-off doesn’t say anything about OP’s performance.
Hey OP. Sorry about your situation. If you are interested in slalom lmk
I’ll refer you to BAH OP. let me know
Let me know if you want to apply to Capgemini
One of the questions any potential employer will ask is why were you laid off? Can you provide any more details?
It was due to business slowdown within my vertical at Deloitte. Unfortunately, I was amongst C, SC’s, M’s and SM’s that were laid off!
