Posting on behalf of a friend: One of my friend is working as a senior Business Analyst / PM in bank of the west. He is looking for a job in the field of corporate strategy. Anyone here who can help in getting a job in that field please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Go to Business School
Corp strat positions usually go to ex-consultants. If he is a recent grad (< 3 years) he could still have a shot at landing a consulting role at a Big 4 or similar consulting firm. If not or if that isn’t doable I would recommend that he network internally and land an internal consulting role in operations or risk at bank of the west or go for the same at another bank. A a couple of years as a high performer in an internal ops consulting role and he could make a case for a financial services corporate strategy role staffed mostly by ex-consultants. He’s essentially looking to make a career switch though, if he is in basically an IT role right now.
Thanks so much for the suggestion
