Lost my job. I understand I have 60 days within which to find a job and have a new H1B filed. If I need more time, can I have a B2 visa filed right now? Any pros/cons? I think I will need an immigration firm to handle this. Any suggestions on how to find a good one?
b2 is a big no. switch to f1 is possible
This may be considered misuse of B visa. B visitors must intend to go back to their home country.
F1 day 1 cpt or join desi consultancy where they will run your payroll immediately and find a contract job for time being then start interviewing for full time job
No, don’t use day 1 CPT. USCIS is not stupid
OP, are you in OCI Seattle? You can apply to Azure/AWS/GCP.
Brush up your basics. Go to hired.com and interviewing.io , pramp.com . Start practicing. The market is pretty hot. I am sure you will be able get a job, within 2 months. Just tell the employer that you are ready to join with receipt.
OP, did you lose job at Oracle ? Or was it your previous company ? Where did you get laid off from ?
See if you can get a bridge petition, or else switch to F-1 (summer term). Speak to an immigration lawyer if you want to do B2, the downside there is you're probably going to have to leave the country and get consular approval to come back on a new H1.
