CS sophomore here. I went to college super fresh after having taken a sabbatical year and very confident that I wanted to major in CS. I quickly started getting involved in a lot of extra curricular projects and stuff that I thought would help build my resume. For like a straight year I kept learning new stuff and started grinding LeetCode. I was super ambitious and saw being a programmer as the most important part of my identity. I seriously felt like the way I saw myself completely changed as a result of being so involved in my professional career. After I got two internship offers from FAANGs is when shit started to feel weird. I felt like I started to get into my comfort zone and wasn't as enthusiastic about stuff as usual. Then, when I wanted to start a new project, I didn't know what to do or what to learn (I'm not saying I know everything, just that I didn't feel motivated or interested). Some personal stuff also went down that semester so I got depressed and that's when I started freaking out about being in the comfort zone and stuff. I started feeling like a total imposter and started thinking everything was going to go downhill from that point on. Fast forward two months after finishing that semester and I'm pretty much at the same spot. I do feel better emotionally and I think this break from coding has helped me personally, but I'm still worried about my motivation since I think it hasn't come back. My first internship is in like a month and I'm scared lol. I do think it's gonna help me get back on track but I have spent all this time just chilling so I don't know what will happen. What have you done when you have hit these points of conformity and unmotivation? I'd like to hear some advice from the Blind Community.
I would say, don't worry that much. Everyone feels like imposter. It's how much you don't think about it, it will lead you more in life. Take a break. breathe a little. Go, do some sightseeing. Just hang out a bit for a week. Then come back to real life, make a TODO list of one final goal, after some thinking. Then make mini goals, and try achieving those. :)
Thanks :) I think I needed to hear this
Just chill, anyways once you start your internship you will be pushed to work harder since you need to give update during stand ups, you can't keep repeating the same thing every day lol
Yes! I think starting my internships will get the ball rolling for me again
I think you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it. Just start your internship when the time comes and everything will fall into its place. There are times in life when doing nothing is the best option
Thank you :)
Wait until you are unemployed and have bills to pay. And then you see other people's TC on blind. The biggest motivation.
Lol, I think first I'll need to graduate for that, so I'll have to wait a bit
Burnout before your first job. Now I've seen everything on Blinds.
LMAO ikr :(

Nice jobs on the FAANG internships. Honestly it might be good to just relax and take it easy. Maybe try learning a new language or sport. Edit: by language I mean spoken language (e.g. Spanish).
Thanks! Lol I had actually thought about a programming lang at first so thanks for the clarification :)
