Low headcount in Google offices

Is there low head count in Google offices? I'm currently team matching, well, sorta. My recruiter says he's looking for a team for me each week, but it's been a month now since my on site. He also mentioned that once I find one, then I'll go through HC.

Am I screwed because I'm likely applying as an L3 (2 YOE) and few teams want a junior so I will probably stay in limbo like this for awhile? The waiting I don't mind, other than anxiety, but the longer this takes the lower I think my chances are.

I completed onsite at google more than 2 weeks ago. I emailed to recruiter about feedbacks per week. She is ignoring me. I don’t know yet my feedbacks are positive or not. Are your feedbacks positive?

Same thing happened to me except I passed HC already. Recruiter put me on hold until headcount opens up again, which he expects to be around August.

@Facebook Truth be told, I don't know if it's a pressure tactic to get me to pick the one team that has shown interest or if that's actually the case

For what it’s worth, I was able to squeak by and match with a team in SoCal. 3 yoe. I talked to two hiring managers.

But I got scared about all this headcount stuff and cut my search off to accept the offer—got lowballed lol.

      What was the low-ball?

And don't worry man I would do the same thing, I would take the offer asap. But then again this is taking so long.

Also, how do you like amazon? Even tho you're interviewing

Amazon is good if you’re on a team you’re interested in and are able to deliver. I had a reorg to a lame tech stack and project, new manager i didn’t get along with joined, and had some family issues in the same 3 month window. My performance fell now I’m being managed out. But no hard feelings having Amazon on my resume made the job hunt so much easier

This time of the year is when new grads begin to join. So L3 headcount is tight.

Makes sense, does it typically open up in the next quarter or so? Hopefully my recruiter is willing to keep trying until head count opens up a bit more, I can wait if needed :P

I think it should be tight till May/June. That's when most of the new grads will finalize on teams. After that it will open up again.

Ah, the satellite offices can be hit or miss. MTV has tons of openings though so I don't think you should have a problem if you are willing to relocate. However, if you have a strong preference, make that clear

I honestly only wanted Pittsburgh to be close to my girlfriend for a year or so, but we both wanted to move to the bay area eventually. So we can both do long distance for a year until she graduates and moves. Bay area would be best for our careers too, amongst a few other bigger cities

This is also why I'm cool with waiting haha, because I didn't really want to relocate until she's done with school. But won't let an opportunity pass by, if I have to move a year earlier it's no big deal
