Having some troubles getting offers and clearly no matter how much leetcode/python/sql I'm not being successful. Whose company has the lowest hiring bar for analytics? I've been managing ppl for the past few years so I'm not technically quick good as I used to but seems that everybody he's looking for super hands on folks, even if they're managing ppl. Any suggestions? 6 YOE 120k Tc #analytics
Does Google take internal transfer to data scientist roles? I am an L2 analyst, most ds roles ask for at least L4.
Same story here. Been leading analytical projects for a few years but the hiring is so different now
How's hiring now compared to the past ?
A few years ago it was - "oh you have worked on a bunch of analytics projects. You will be a good value add. Hired. You work on SAS but we use R, and that's ok. You should be able to pick up. Hired. Tell us about what major projects you did, those are slightly different but similar to the problems we work on. You are hired. You worked in finance and we work in insurance sector but we can leverage a lot of what you do and we can train you on the insurance part. Hired." Now it's like - "oh we work on Spyder anaconda, you work on jupyter anaconda. It doesn't align, not hired. You haven't worked on analyzing ads data for flight ticketing platform, so you are not a good fit. No hire. You only have 3 years experience working on SQL, we would prefer 4. No hire. We just didn't like you. No hire. Although you have 10 years experience in analytics and our company is two years old but we don't think you are a good technical fit for the analytics team here. No hire. You just don't fit the fast paced culture in our team. No hire."
