Dear Googlers,

Do you consider yourself a super smart and nerdy individual and working at Google was a natural path? Would you like to share your story how you got to Google?

I am an undergrad from a public state school. What should I do for the next 3 months to prepare for Google Engineering Resident Role?

Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated ☺️🌟🙏.

The engineering resident program will not work in your favor if you are not an underrepresented minority. If you read the job description for the program, they pretty much outline that it’s all about diversity etc and they encourage people from urm backgrounds to apply for this role. I have seen this first hand as I know 2 people who got into this program from my school and one is hispanic female and other is Nigerian female. Now if you are wondering, thus discrimination is not legal for full-time roles but they get away with it because this is a ‘residency program’. I would say, bank your hopes on New grad roles at Google which will start opening once summer ends.

I have no words... Read the last sentence in second paragraph and put it in context with the rest of the paragraph especially ‘particularly those are historically underrepresented in tech’ who do you think these underrepresented people are? White men? Or just close your ears and call anyone who points this out as racist

Alo Plato is right. Don’t just look at the red underlined words. Read the entire paragraphs. I’m from the North African region which is classified under White on their application form, so I selected “Prefer not to disclose”. Plus I’m not actually black so it’s not like I’m African American. I’m a caramel Arab lmao. On the upside I have a referral for it but if the diversity game is too strong and they seriously consider me as White while ignoring a referral then rip.

May you share how many leetcodes did you practice? For how long? And what was your strategy while preping for the interview?

      And congrats!
