Bought one with the intention of enjoying driving it, and experiencing a little luxury and as a status symbol, a thought many people have on their minds. However I feel it's wasting money now and that I could have been more satisfied in the long run about an ordinary EV/Plugin car that basically doesn't cost much, doesn't depreciate much, and has more space/features, saves me at least 2000$ a year. Also I'm leaning more towards helping climate change from my side as much as I can. I'll lose a little now if I sell my car but can't get over the thought of doing it. What is the true value of these so called luxury cars, really??
True value is that you can humblebrag and also signal great virtue on anonymous online forums.
Then I don't really care lol
Cut your losses. Why spend money that you probably have better uses for, trying to impress people that you probably don’t like?
Not really man. Someone on this forum said luxury cars are for poor people and it opened my eyes. Really, no one gives a shit what you drive.
It’s a culture thing...depends where you are in the US. In the bay people hate nice cars because of a variety of reasons. They are seen as the antithesis of environmentalism and also a symbol of wealth inequality. This kind of thing happens in very left wing places.
Dude whats your TC bro? That is the real status symbol on blind
350k
It’s all personal preference. Can argue on both sides. Personally I chose to spend money and enjoy the drive now rather than after I earn a lot and am old. Who knows if I will last another 5 years? At some point you will spend that money if you have the urge to own such a car in the mind. Better spend now and enjoy while you can. At least, I can’t enjoy or own such cars in my home country - India. You don’t need to overspend and buy a 100k worth luxury car - always buy a 2-4 year old well maintained/CPO so that you have the peace of mind and still save a lot of money.
Well said, though all the fun I would have with my car pretty much wore off.
CPO cars are a joke. You might still end up with a lemon.
What kind of car? How much you want for it? Also, TC or GTFO.
Lexus RX
Eh. Piece of shit. 😂
Sounds like you didn’t bug the right luxury car. What car is it? I bought a 335i my first year of working. Spent 40k on it. Been driving it for 8 years, not a single regret.
Did you buy it new? What is the current value of your car?
No it was used, 1 year. Current value is like 12k
If you feel +2K/year is considerable, luxury car was a bad buy. Taking public transit and going vegan would be helpful towards combating climate change if you want to help.
😂
😂 well?? don’t keep us waiting op!!
I’m gonna ask the obvious question here. What’s the car? There’s a difference between luxury Acura and a Bentley ;)
A fully loaded Prius, watchatalkin now?
