Hello Blind Family,
I'm feeling very frustrated in my situation and would love to hear some thoughts and feedback. I'm currently working as a mobile/web developer in Pittsburgh (small company around 100 people). Being in the company for almost three years, I got promoted last year without raise (excepted for 3% merit based raise). I had a conversation with my manager at the time. He told me my salary was at the highest of my band and couldn't go higher. I was shocked since it's only 3k bump from my previous level. And over the year, I've heard people got more money even lower than my level (even the developer I'm directly leading...).So I brought up the conversation again and asked for raise. It's been few months, they always said they're working on it.
Last week, I was told that they're trying to adjust the salary for everyone to reflect their level, but it's harder for me since they've already paid a lot for my visa sponsorship. This sounds so absurd and ridiculous to me. I couldn't even believe I heard this. Is this something normal happening to people who needs visa sponsorship?? Am I being crazy thinking this is ridiculous??
Note 1: unlucky me I didn't get H1B lottery for the past two years.
Thank you in advance. Any thoughts welcome!
