As the title says. I was supposed to do a virtual onsite this week at Lyft. My recruiter called me earlier this morning to say that they just got word of a hiring freeze until the end of the year, so they're pausing ongoing applications such as mine. Shame, I was looking forward to the opportunity. TC: I'm unemployed #hiring #jobopening #recruiting #hiringfreeze
Layoffs coming soon, so stay away for now
I can confirm. I was supposed to have the virtual onsite today, but it was cancelled 5mins before it has started
Lol that’s such a bad look, can’t even give you a days notice.
Damn that's brutal
What if i just got an offer from Lyft on Friday? 😰
As a former employee, I fully expect hunger games type behavior from the people still at Lyft who can’t get an offer. The stories I’ve heard and personally experienced are disgusting. Its rats on a sinking ship trying to survive.
I had a technical screen tomorrow. Got an email today about the freeze
OP, were you let go from Meta? How are you unemployed?
Freeze for all levels?
Unusre but someone said it's for all roles so seems likely.
I just received an onsite invite for this Thursday. I’ve been trying to finalize the date for a month now. I’ll update if it gets cancelled. (Canada swe)
International positions are still open
I had a recruiter call tomorrow and they reached out today mentioning they are no longer hiring . What a bummer!

Weird, I have a call with them tomorrow that hasn’t gotten cancelled or anything. What department?
Not sure what department, but it was for an engineering role. Try calling/emailing your recruiter to confirm. I have a feeling they just decided this sometime today and they're still going through their list of applicants to inform everyone.
Company wide freeze for all US roles it seems
