Anyone work at Lyft Level 5 in Palo Alto? What’s it like? How does it compare to the core Lyft office in SF? Positive outlook on the work being done in self-driving there? Hard to find Glassdoor reviews and other info specific to Level 5.
Heard pretty bad things about it. They seem to be quite far behind in the race.
Would also love to know.. Have an onsite there next week
How did the onsite go? Did you get an offer or like it? I have one there next week also.
Based on direct experience from colleagues (from Apple) who joined L5 team, the work environment is pretty good with interesting projects. Yes, Lyft is quite behind in self driving car race but one gets newer and interesting projects. L5 infrastructure is also a bit lacking but probably improving with time.
As someone who worked at Level 5 I can say that most teams are terrible. There are less than a handful of good managers. It’s basically Google Streetview 2.0. Managers are clawing their way to stay in their positions. You’ll have no work/life balance. The reason for the Unlimited PTO is because if you had a normal vacation a company would have to either pay you for the vacation time you don’t take or force you to take it before the end of the year. Lyft doesn’t want you to do that. L5 and LBS are the worst. If you aren’t willing to kiss ass and play the game you’re screwed
Will you mind saying how WLB compared with Uber? I have heard good feedback from Lyft but not that great feedback of late (initially they were happy but now they seem to be disillusioned) from Lyft L5.
Zero work life balance. I worked 24/7 and was constantly on edge. When you go onsite be sure you walk past the team while they are working and look at their faces. It will tell you a lot
Shitty middle management throughout who thinks they know what they’re doing. They’ll throw money at you but it’s not sustainable and bad for your career. Stay away from this hot trash
How are Luc and Sacha as execs
A lot of views but no replies. Does no one on here work at Level 5? lol
