Their stocks crashed...unfortunately But will you go for an offer of 1 million stocks at current price? The trade off is leaving google with 600k unvested GSU. What is the sentiment around the future of their stock here? What will happen after the bloody ipos? Will people flee and cause work environment implode? Anybody from snap give an idea? Please speak about ur thought as well, either way you voted.
Huh i would def join for 1mm stock in exchange for giving up 600k gsus. Worst case scenario it drops by 50% or so.. (~$100k lose as compared to staying w/ 600k gsus) .. but it can also rebound or just go sideways.. Seems like relatively limited downside as compared to potential upside.. but who knows what might happen. Uber might go under too but hopefully after you had chance to cash out on those stocks
I’d take it. You got enough cushion even if the stock continues to perform poorly.
I strongly suspect one of them will do well , and the other will get acquired, so in my opinion it’s worth it
Any comments for no-go?
I thought you could come back to Google within a year. So if you join Uber and it doubles you are set for life. If you join Uber and it goes under you could just come back to Google.
Which level are you going as?
Wait for 6 to 7 months after the IPO (as employees can sell their stocks only after 6 months) and see whether the price stabilizes. So maybe you can move your join date further. If you are interested in uber why not Tesla?

Dara’s job is done (taking it to IPO) so he will leave in couple of months.
No his job is not done because he gets a big bonus if valuation hits 120b and stays there
^^ there are many CEOs who are there to take company to IPO and then they move on to make big bucks some other startup.
