Individuals and org leaders must have experienced situations with scope being reduced. Since team can be split, reorged, or manager originally promised something then made a different arrangement.
How to deal with and navigate such situations? And optimize it best for the personal career growth?

      Most managers aren’t super creative about coming up with new ideas for your career. You either have an idea to build a new product, feature set, or technology, or you don’t. If not, you may be able to move between units internally if the amazon process allows it. Otherwise you should look to leave

      Yep, I’m going to first discuss with my manager if my current work has enough datapoints to get me to next level, while waiting for things to pan out. Some time along the process, I’m going to see from management if I can get equivalent scope to expand my charter.
