If you had a chance to start over would you join MBB again or would go with a different career now?
Maybe you have missed some great opportunities which you see now due to MBB?

F**k consulting. Most of my old colleagues have reached out about referrals.
Was consulting that bad?
There’s a purpose for everything. If you want to work on cutting-edge ML or build the next AWS, of course MBB is a bad place for that but if you want to move to COO/CEO/CFO (notice how I omitted CTO), you need to learn how organizations work, how to drive change, how to retain talent, where to cut costs, where to delegate etc and MBB is a terrific place to learn that.
Many of the “F**k consulting” tech bro crowd either don’t know what an MBB role entails or they worked there with a wrong set of expectations.
Before you bash the entire MBB universe as PPT junkies, try to learn what we do. I have never personally opened a PPT at McKinsey, let alone working on it. Tagging all consultant as “PPT monkeys” is same as “All Indians eat curry” or “All Russians drink vodka”, just shows your arrogance and ignorance.
Finally, if consulting was THAT bad, FAANG wouldn’t do it but all the Solutions Architect/ProServ (Amazon), gTech (Google), Solutions Engineer (Facebook) and Software Architect (Apple) roles just prove the opposite. They all want a slice of it.
