Like Git, very few people actually know about the nuances, but I do agree that its not always required.
Try being in proper shape, either by cutting down on junk food and/or by exercising.
Always give priority to your health over work, e.g., if you have a fever or a headache, then just get some rest instead of doing any work.
Keep in touch with interviewing skills, be it leetcode or system design, etc.
Save money for a rainy day during the summer.
Keep in touch with your family, GF, school and university friends, etc.
Layoffs/PIPs can happen at any time, don't break down yourself mentally, while thinking about that.
* Speak candidly and learn to communicate clearly through writing.
* Make time to answer your friends’ text messages. Accept invites to hang out. Deep friendships are harder and harder to come by.
* Exercise, eat healthy, get quality sleep. Health >>> TC.
* Invest in index funds if you’re not comfortable choosing individual stocks yet. Don’t mistake a bull market for your own genius. Valuation takes practice.
* Keep your interview skills sharp. One or two LC mediums a day or one contest a week adds up over time.
* Aggressively ask for feedback from your manager. If you have nothing else to talk about during your 1:1, then make this your go to.
* Be comfortable saying no to your coworkers.
* Never tie your worth to your achievements.
* Your friends’ and/or strangers’ achievements will, at some point, affect your perceptions of what you want out of your own career. Don’t feel bad about not having something you don’t even want.
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart tell me,
Why are you still so afraid? (mmmmm)
Your 20s will never come back,
That’s why I said everything else more or less happens on its own anyway.
