PM interviews: https://engineerseekingfire.com/how-to-prepare-for-product-manager-interviews/
I had added the particular website, based on positive feedback that I had seen from others. I don’t have any particular affiliation or any personal connection with it. There are not many resources for TPM mock interviews and it seemed to be a good option.
However, what you are saying is really important. Could you go into some more details about why it was not worth it?
The interviewer who worked at Facebook did not have insights into TPM interviews at Google and said I had to focus on coding interviews too. Mocked me in the beginning by saying 'I'm not going to ask you a coding question. Don't worry. But it is important to get some practice'.
He lacked attention to detail.
I wanted to give him a birds eye view to the product and he had probing questions on the architecture, which was great, but I didn't realize he assumed that was the project I was speaking about, since it was a project retrospective interview. We ended up discussing my product for 30 minutes before he realized what was going on.
He interrupted a lot and, imo, did not have the traits of an experienced FANG TPM interviewer. But he let me know that he would be asking probing questions. I enjoyed taking them but there was little time in the end to discuss the actual project.
The fact that I could not trust that he worked at Facebook was on the back on my mind when I did the interview and there is a possibility that the lack of trust influenced my judgment.
