Recently received a Salesforce offer and I also received a request for a phone interview at Microsoft. My question is should I still interview at Microsoft or just try to negotiate a little bit at Salesforce and accept the offer? I'm pretty happy with the new grad offer. First year TC204 and then 168 every following year. Standard Salesforce offer for new grad. Not sure if it's worth the time trying to also land Microsoft etc then negotiate more. Was thinking I'll just try and negotiate SF a bit then accept. Planning on staying wherever I join for ~2 years before jumping. Am I being dumb? Anything I'm missing here #microsoft #salesforce Tc-0
Salesforce is more prestigious Higher engineering bar
How ?? It is not easy to create Azure , metaverse. Salesforce is good at what it does but we really should not compare.
Lol, I work at salesforce and moved from Microsoft. Definitely not smarter engineers nor better tools.
msft won’t match
I've heard ppl getting 112 base 50 sign 130 stocks And there's a yearly performance bonus. Comes out slightly higher than SF
I negotiated with msft keeping competing offers which turns out to be 204k TC 1st year, 200k TC 2nd year and 173k 3rd. So, you never know :)
Msft offer is less than that. I know someone who got 110 base, 70k stocks/4 years, and some bonus. MSFT new grad offer likely won’t beat that, but it never hurts to try.
I knew someone who got the same offer. Unless OP has competing offers, this likely would be what the new grad offer looks like
MSFT new grad offers are decent these days and the trick with them is that base offers are usually pretty mediocre but the ceiling is really high if you have competing offers / the team really wants you. I’d prefer working for msft than salesforce personally. But you’ll have to move quickly given that you’re already at the offer stage with salesforce
SF doesn’t negotiated, MSFT probably can’t beat that but is more prestigious than SF for sure.
Not true. Salesforce does negotiate.
SF doesn't negotiate new grads :(
Prestige doesn't pay the bills. One of my friends moved from MSFT to ABNB last year and people back home thought it was a silly move. So, it depends on whom you want to impress, and if that is a measure you want to live by.
In IT, both are equally well known. Outside IT, Everyone knows MSFT of course.
Go to MS. A better chance to work on a variety of products whereas SF is relatively focused on CRM.
I've been there 4 years never touched anything related to CRM, work in marketing cloud. There's also Slack and Tableau under our umbrella now so there's some cool new toys to play with.
Getting into Slack/Tavleau isn’t any easier than applying externally, OOM has same standards as external hires (as it should, too many SF rest and vesters polluted Tableau, hopefully that doesn’t happen to Slack)
I am leaving salesforce for MSFT :) Have both offers :) Both are good place, but i just feel that I would have a better learning curve at MSFT (Azure) maybe compared over the salesforce CRM.
That is a very good offer. Microsoft probably won’t be able to beat it. I would do something like if you increase sign on by 15k then I’ll drop other interviews and sign.
