I received an offer letter for MLE position. This position is pure MLE, not SWE(ML) if that matters. However, in the offer letter it is mentioned as SWE. Any reason for this? Why would the company do this? I am thinking it makes things for the company easy in case you shift round, since the title of the role is same. I am on a visa. #offer #offerletter
What's the difference between MLE and SWE(ML). I was under the impression that they are pretty much the same?
What company?
MLE/SWE-ML are just ways to make a role seem attractive. Eventually you’ll be a SWE on a team that does ML. You won’t be a research scientist
Don't take it OP. Dafuq is this bait and switch? Pure MLE or bust!
Tell me what a pure mle is.
Dunno. OP must know. Sounds more prestigious to my untrained ear tho
OP what kind of post is this. No TC no YOE no company name... Blind is about sharing... Anyway. I went through the Google MLE interview process. My onsite had two coding questions and two ML design questions. I got hired to do some NLP modelling work (my first tasks are distillation and improving our model's embeddings to capture context better). Despite all of the above, my offer letter said SWE. Don't concern yourself with the official title.
Same here. MLE is a vanity title for SDE working in ML
