The team I'm in is pretty great. The only issue is dealing with the IBM groups that give IBM the bad name. Yeah pay is low but so are everyone's expectations
Bottom line, if you join a low-performance team and let your skills atrophy early in your career for that cushy WLB, then yes it’s career suicide. But if you develop your skills, grow to a certain point, and be aware of when it is time to move on, I think it can be a good place to work after college.
