Currently a college senior doing an internship in analytics. I got accepted for an MS program with significant scholarship where I'll only have to pay around 8k for the entire program. I'll also be getting a monthly stipend of $2000 as I'll be working as a graduate assistant. Overall goal is to get into data science. I'm confused if I should get the masters or try to find a full time job in analytics. I don't have any DS experience or training and I'd have to self study my way into DS if I take the full time job. The offer looks really good to turn down, program is great, all students get paid internships in DS and analytics, the education is solid as well. Tldr : Get a full time job in analytics and switch to DS after a few years or do a 2 year masters in analytics & DS and get into a data scientist role?
Do your masters in CS, learn DS by yourself/pocs. Get into entry level DS/DE role and go from there.
