Because they get more total comp
It’s strange and I’ve observed it as well. A tendency to be quick to point out any of Amazon’s shortcomings (usually small missing perks such as lack of softdrinks in the kitchenette or more expensive lunch) while emphasizing that one specific horror story that they heard from their ex Amazon coworker that’s now at MSFT. People have different career motivations and it’s ok that Amazon is right for some people while Microsoft is a better fit for others... no need for the petty jabs.
Huh I've seen more petty jabs going the opposite direction
Haven't seen it, but I do appreciate Amazon being the new company to hate in Seattle.
New sheriff in town, it’s not a hard thing to understand.
Whaaat, I think it’s the other way around. Also more employers means more opportunities for us. So we should be happy
It goes both ways; I have seen many Amazonians trash Microsoft calling out not really good excuses. Maybe it’s a I am better than you game that people like to play. Agree though, more companies here, the better for folks.
MS is not a good place to work
Both amzn and msft suck. There. I said it. 2nd tier employers.
Agreed.
This is such a bad way to view things. I can list worse employers than MS and Amazon until the sun sets, while I can count better ones on my hands. People who are working for MS and Amazon should consider themselves successful. There is always something better, but fretting about that is not the way to live one's life. Disclaimer: I left MS for FB a few months ago...
