I had onsite full loop Interview SDE 2 with MSFT in last week. Now, recruiter contacted me and scheduled Skype interview with AA. What's this? What should I expect in this Interview? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
This probably means they were going to reject you but other candidates dropped so now they want to vet you with the as appropriate (decision maker). Either that or he was out of office.
If they’re doing an AA on a different day this is clearly to sell you. Not everyone gets the AA interview and they wouldn’t waste the time bringing you back if it was a no hire.
What is AA?
AA is "As Appropriate"... It means you made it to the last leg of the interviews. If this person gives you a hire, you're in. They usually interview for a fit for team, fit for Microsoft and potential for future growth.
Thanks for the reply. What kind of questions I should expect? Technical or it would be more Design?
Another possibility is there are conflicting feedback among interviewers and AA decides to give you a chance. If that’s the case, it won’t be coding, likely behavioral/culture fit questions.
It's almost in the bag for you. Skype AA usually means the skip level manager is either out of town or he was otherwise unavailable. This is most likely going to be a behavioral interview with the skip.
