Hi, I applied to MSFT while still employed by Amazon, and voluntarily left during the interview process. I received an offer from MSFT, but their internal system still has the resume with my "current" position being Amazon. If I give the appropriate date I left at on the background check, will this raise any red flags in terms of discrepancy, or is this something I should bring up to HR/recruiters before BC? #microsoft

You'll be fine. This is absolutely explainable. You didn't misrepresent yourself when you applied. I wouldn't even mention it. When filling the info out with HireRight, just fill in the info accurately. If they ask you about it, I'd tell them the truth and say that you were still employed when you applied and you quit voluntarily to focus on landing another job. You didn't lie and did nothing wrong. You'll be OK.

No worries. It's easy to have irrational fears when you're the one at stake right now. It's way easier to say "be calm" from the outside looking in. But just know, you did nothing wrong and everything should work out just fine :)
