You can chat with your recruiter about this. They might be willing to give you your interviewers perspective and other stats. Besides, if you still feel that was absolutely a low ball - you can consider expressing that with them ( hope you have a competitive offer alongside , as you do that )
This is a good offer for l62. If you already make substantially more than this you'll probably need an l63 offer to beat. There is some room to negotiate here but not top much.
If possible negotiate for 63. This is hard since itโs cross band, but with a PhD and 6 yoe, there is a chance, unless your PhD field is not relevant.
L62 with phd is low level imho
This is not generally true. For product group, PhD is hired at 61 or 62. For MSR, they are hired at 63 but there is a required 2 years of postdoc.
What Microsoft do after the second year when TC drops with no more sign-on bonus? Amazon usually make it up with more RSU.
Depends on the org, there are either special stock award or special cash award. For me and everyone within my team there is no obvious โcliffโ. This is really org dependent though.
You should be aiming for l63 with that yoe
Similar profile as you, got offered pretty much the same, with lower stock, some time back.
Did you accept? Sounds like you do. Would you please elaborate why you did accept?
Yes. Primarily lack of info (didn't know about blind), but also too naive to take words at face value (about promo). Of course lack of a clearly better alternative meant I didn't have much leverage to negotiate. Good luck with your decision
For l62, this is a solid offer
I know but I am not sure if I am going to take it. TC is low
How much do you want? Anyway, no point to downgrade yourself for no reason, unless you really want msft
