MSFT RSU refreshers

MSFT folks, what is the vesting period of the RSU refreshers you get? Say one gets a 30k refresher as part of your yearly review, would be vested within the next one year or 3 to 4 years.

Wait. Really?

Microsoft MYdq01 Nov 10, 2019

Yep they're right

Symantec eicar OP Nov 9, 2019

Thanks. And if one is the best performar how much RSU can one expect, data for L62, L63 and L64 helps.

Microsoft hisky Nov 9, 2019

34k for 63. 48k for 64

Google gaoi Nov 9, 2019

This is the max, which is 200% of target. L62 target is 11k.

DoorDash chaff Nov 9, 2019

So 48k vesting in 5 years means roughly 10k per year ? Is it 10k stocks ? I.e 145*10k per year in rsu ? that seems a lot so either I am wrong or missing out on the party

Adobe adobebest Nov 9, 2019

10k is the dollar value not the number of stocks.

Sometimes I would like to give benfit of the doubt. But, $145*10000 per year, really? This is one of those situations where you should use common sense.

Microsoft xIdC37 Nov 9, 2019

Who cares. The RSU grants are so tiny it’s not even worth adding up

So, what happens to Microsoft employees after 4 years? Do their TC go down?

Symantec eicar OP Nov 10, 2019

If you are good you will keep getting refreshers every year, each refresher. Overlaps the previous ones and the total payout you get is a summation of all of them

Microsoft ismartMSFT Nov 10, 2019

level 61 120% rewards stock awarded 7500 - vesting over 5 years 🙄

Microsoft MYdq01 Nov 10, 2019

What are you gonna do with all that 💰 💰 💰???

Microsoft ismartMSFT Nov 11, 2019

planning to buy a 10,000 sqft house in Palo alto.

Amazon god Nov 10, 2019

I am going to join Microsoft. I have been rewarded 50K RSUs per year at L63. Considering I get 34K refreshers vest over 5 years and I don’t get promoted, I will only get 28K RSUs 5th year, right? That’s bad

Google gaoi Nov 10, 2019

The cliff exists in every company. Jump at that time if you want. Also, 5 year L63 without promotion is hard... 63 is a relative low level. It's easy to achieve L65 in MS nowadays.

Amazon god Nov 10, 2019

Is L65 manager level?

Symantec eicar OP Nov 10, 2019

Not I windows org. It is so top heavy that ppl flatline at sr engineers
