Microsoft TC can be kinda skewed because they give new grads a lot more stock than industry hires. Assuming you’re being hired at l60 you’ll probably be offered something like 120/50/15

120 base + 10% bonus + 12.5 RSUs = 147 TC + the really good benefits there? Sounds pretty good to me and a big upgrade. Unfortunately I don’t have any competing offers (didn’t pass amazon onsite and Facebook phone screen)

Yeah, I was offered 119/50/25 at a hiring event, from what I read it seems pretty standard. I also didn’t have any competing offers at the time so couldn’t negotiate, but ended up with a much better offer so i didn’t bother negotiating with msft.

That’s awesome, congratulations and thanks for the insight

First, find out if you are in the new grad pipeline or the industry hire pipeline. If it's the latter, then your expectation are spot on. If it's the first, you can probably push for 120k stocks and 50k signing.

Sweet, thanks. Is it fair to just ask for that straight up from the recruiter or should I ask a little more so I can get the expected 50rsu/10 sign on

You need to know which pipeline you are in first. The two pipelines have very different budgets. Asking a new grad comp when you are in the industry hire pipeline will get you a hard no.

Find out what level you are hired at. With one year experience, you can shoot for level 60
