Stripe RSU

Nov 3, 2021 4 Comments

I have heard that stripe has new RSU Policies for new joiners and many are saying that it’s not beneficial. Can people mention what is the exact policy and why is it not beneficial.

There’s a whole discussion here: Check out this post! "70% of Stripe’s recent hires are from Google, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft. Isn’t Annual RSU policy deterring? (Tech Industry)"

As I said in that post, it doesn’t really matter if the TC is massive and negates any appreciation that a 4 year grant would/could have

Instead of a one time 4 year grant you get a yearly grant of x amount dollars. The number of shares is calculated every year and it vest throught the year. The disadvantage of this is that you only get 1 year upside on stocks instead of 4 years upside. The advantage is that it's indefinite and grows with your promotion.
