I had a behavioural interview with Amazon and they asked the following question "what have you learned in your free time that helped you at your job"? Like, you know, every book that I've read was useful, but they asked for some specific example. I was stuck and decided to make up a story on the fly. They started asking clarifying questions and in the end they caught me on lies. There was a 30 sec silence, after that I avoided admitting that it has never happened and said that probably I forgot the exact details of the case. So, my advice to all the people around there. Don't listen to the guys, who say just make up a story and you are good to go. They are professional interrogators and they will know.
lol, never make up stories. Embellish your own stories but don't create something from thin air. Had the same experience interviewing at Amazon, the bar raiser was really sharp and I was glad I kept my stories honest.
Ouch
Exactly right. A disingenuous interview will get you a rejection faster than an underwhelming example. When I get an underwhelming response, I probe for a better example. When I suspect someone is lying, they get grilled like an interrogation until I can validate one way or another.
Depends if youāre interviewing for engineering or sales. In sales it seems normal to make a bunch of random shit up.
It was for engineering
Lol.. you are a loser who couldn't think fast enough..keep your advice with you and GTFO
So you are not a professional liar š¤„ Big deal man - find a suitable job elsewhere lol š
So you lied, got caught and didnāt get an offer because your BS was called out. Then you tell yourself itās cool I didnāt like it there anyways. You have mental issues. Honestly we dodged a bullet! Thank you Loop crew for smoking this sham out early.
Lesson learned for you: learn to tell better lies.
Tell me about the time that you interview at Amazon, you made up stories to try to convince your interviewers and backfire to you with a rejection, did you share your experience on blind ? What do you learn for the trolls on blind ? Also TC ?
Insta like :)
Lol I remember making up a story on the spot about how I was able to optimize the performance of something and cut cost by 30%. Then the interviewer was like how did you do it? What evidence did you have to persuade people? Made up more numbers on the spot. š and now Iām here

How can I find success dating in NYC
What was the story? šæ
I've learned some stuff and implemented it, in the middle of clarifying questions I understood that it is not good example and has some critical issues which they pointed out. And even myself won't agree to push that shit into production :)
