The visa uncertainty is a major turn off, but then the fear of missing out, and YOLO
If you want to do MS only for learning and not for migrating to US, online MS is also worth it.
A good balance is moving to the UK. That would mean being less aggressive in the money you make, but the trade off is a much better quality of life than SF, for example.
